ISI Mentoring Groups

Goal and Focus
The mentoring sessions are intensive and interactive sessions in
which participants learn to write better grant proposals.

Description
In each session, proposals/drafts/white papers, will be selected for review and peer critique typically from the session participants. In addition to reviews, experienced ISI members will share advice on the broader proposal formulation, preparation and refinement process. Rather than focus on the technical ideas behind proposals, the emphasis is on the preparation process and on selling our ideas. To that end, we will be doing a lot of review simulation -- e.g. review by an NSF panel, using their forms etc. To assure the highest quality of critiques, we will also draw on expertise from project leaders and ISI leadership. Occasional Special Lectures, by distinguished speakers, will focus on related areas of proposal writing, project management, and academic life.

Meetings
Meetings will typically be held on the last Wednesday of the month, from 12:00pm - 1:30pm, in the 4th floor conference room. These sessions are brown bag (i.e., bring your own lunch). To check upcoming meetings, see our schedule.

Registration
Registration is easy, just signup to our mailing list.
